With a hard fought win to start the year, the 2017 Seagulls expressed their presence as a different side than years gone by from the get go. Multiple players stretched themselves across the pre season and found benefit to the intense sessions off site at ETC and Geelongs Gym. Our playing style has also benefited as we can now execute an effective game plan to match it with the GFL’s best for extended periods of time. Although still maturing and learning the game, our list has taken strides that has us sitting at 6-8 with two particularity tough losses leaving us a slim chance of making finals in 2017. These losses have spurred our group on and have them motivated for an exciting 4 games to finish off this years campaign in hope of big things in 2018 and beyond.
I’m very honored to continue on as Senior Coach next season and have already began the difficult process of list retention and recruiting. With exciting challenges ahead, it is important we continue to build on our momentum. We have worked hard to establish a list of quality people that is supported by passionate volunteers, support staff, supporters and sponsors. I appreciate the on going support and will no doubt continue to push the playing group to become the best they can be both individually and collectively. I hope you’ll stick around for the journey as the road less traveled is often the most rewarding. The mighty North Shore Football Club are again having an impact on the GFL and we have every intention of continuing to do so.
Jason Davenport- Senior Playing Coach
As the coach of the U18 colts, this is my fourth time back at North Shore. I started my football here as a junior, many years ago!
I have a great mix of players, ranging in age from 16 to 18 1/2 years old. The team is a culturally diverse bunch, who works together as a team.
I believe this team has potential to play a successful finals campaign and I’m encouraging the boys to look towards bringing home a premiership.
Currently in 4th position on the ladder, our focus is on strengthening the team work, through skills development and the increase of individual weekly performance.
